Expirience with the Trek Supercaliber SL 9.6 Gen 2

Trek Supercaliber SL 9.6 Gen 2 Review
Ludwig Döhl
The second generation of the Supercaliber addresses precisely the weak points of the first. The Supercaliber SL 9.6 has a significantly more modern geometry than its predecessor. The frame is also almost 200 grams lighter. And there is 80 instead of 60 millimeters of suspension travel in the rear. Coupled with the 110 mm at the fork, the current race chassis from Jolanda Neff & Co becomes much more grown-up. When it comes to frame design and quantity of travel, the similarity to Specialized's Epic Worldcup is undeniable. However, the general concept of the rear suspension is completely different. Trek is taking no risks when it comes to its bike handling. The moderate geometry data conveys a balanced handling. Due to the interplay of a relatively long top tube and a low stack, the riding position is sporty. With 13,1 kg, the Racebike von Trek tends to be one of the heavier bikes on the market. With 25 years warranty, nothing stands in the way of a long-term relationship.
